Jamie McCarthy's New York Sour

A take on the New York Sour,  the Thin Red Line was my inspiration on a recent trip to New York. Buffalo Trace is a fantastic 8 year aged bourbon which really stands out in the cocktail. The vermouth lightens the drinks up and the port gives the cocktail a nice sweet and sophisticated depth to finish.

  • 35 ml Buffalo Trace
  • 25 ml Belsazar Rose Vermouth
  • 15 ml Maraschino Liqueur
  • 25 ml Lemon Juice
  • 15.ml Demarera Syrup
  • 25 ml Egg Whites
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1 dash of Fee Brother Orange Bitters
  • Dry shaken and then shaken with ice floated with 3 bar-spoons of port.
    Garnished with 2 maraschino cherries
