Scapegrace Gin is produced out of New Zealand. The gin is the in the classic, London dry style featuring juniper, orange, lemon, coriander, nutmeg, cardamom, liquorice, angelica, cloves, orris, cinnamon, cassia, and tangerine. These are all classic ingredients though suggest a slightly citrus-forward profile. They are particularly proud of the water, which they regard as the most natural and pure on earth after resting in mountain aquifers. The name is a reference or synonym for "rogue" and a nod to the sordid history of gin-making through the 19th century. This is the "navy strength" or gold label expression, which is...
Baileys claims a group of 1,500 farms raising over 40,000 cows all dedicated to the production of the cream. They claim they are the "happiest cows around" because they're free range raised on grass. It's blended with Irish whiskey and a combination of cocoa and vanilla to create the Irish cream. The official trademark omits the notional possessive apostrophe in "Baileys," which is an easy mistake to make.

Banks 5 Island rum is named first for explorer Sir Joseph Banks and secondly for the five islands that are the source of this blended rum: Trinidad, Jamaica, Guyana, Java, and—the fifth island—Barbados. (A notional sixth island might be New York where the company is located.) The rums are aged between 3 and 12 years before undergoing a filtration (hence the clear color) and bottling. Normally, we associate a country of origin for rums but given that this is a blend of several rums we have taken the same approach we do with blended scotches and listed the bottler, which...

This specialty gin is aged for a day in Japanese Sencha and Chinese Green teas (along with 12 more traditional botanicals) for a unique scent and texture; because it departs from the traditional London Dry we have opted to list it as an "other." Our own tasting at the Tasting Panel 2010 Chicago Tour we said it's a classic, dry taste but with some overtones of fruit (the green tea?) that comes together rather nicely. Drinking this genuine gin with a winning personality is like meeting an old friend of the opposite sex with an attractive new haircut." Beefeater 24...

Belvedere releases their vodka seasonally as Belvedere (Red) Vodka and donates 50% of the proceeds to the Join Red movement to fight AIDS. This is available at Christmas time in a specially designed bottle.

With a golden amber color, these bitters are peppery, with earthy-fruity aromas of marinated cucumber and cracked pepper on the nose. In taste expect fresh cucumber accompanied by a light bitterness, herbal notes of rosemary and thyme, hints of fleur de sel, and lingering floral flavors of summer blossoms and squash finish.

Blackwater Juniper Cask Gin begins life as their No. 5 Gin, which is a traditional London dry style featuring the heavy juniper flavors that are iconic to the Martini enthusiast and gin purists in general. They then had small barrels made from juniper wood—extremely unusual and a world first for all that we know—and age their gin in these special casks. This makes their limited edition aged gin. Blackwater Distillery was founded in 2015 by Peter Mulryan in the West Waterford area of Ireland, which they regard as premium growing grounds for grain and dedicate their spirits to that terroir....
