Caorunn Gin (pronounced: "kay-roon") is a Scottish gin made at the whisky distillery Balmenach in Speyside. It is made from grain--presumably barley--and infused with 11 botanicals including heather, bog myrtle, rowan berry, dandelion, and coul blush apple, which are all considered to be Celtic for a "truly Scottish gin." (We must assume—it being a gin—that there is a healthy dose of juniper as well.) The brand is overseen by Inver House Distillers, itself a subsidiary of International Beverage Holdings Limited.
In the January, 2014 edition of Tasting Panel Magazine, Anthony Dias Blue gave it a somewhat rare 95pt rating and remarked, "I made a Martini with this gin and it was one of the best I've ever had."
