DRAMBUIE 70CL

€40,95

Drambuie liqueur is a scotch-based liqueur made famously as an elixir based upon a set of secret ingredients from "Bonnie Prince Charles." The legend is that after the failed rebellion in 1745, Prince Charles Edward Stuart gave the recipe to loyalist Captain John MacKinnon. The recipe was lost in antiquity until officially registered in 1883. The name itself is said to come from Gaelic An Dram Buidheach , translating as "the drink that satisfies." It is pronounced: "Dram-BOO-ee."
(From the marketing website)

The label and bottle design underwent a change in 2009 to celebrate a 100th anniversary (to some dismay from traditionalists). The brand was acquired by William Grant & Sons in September, 2014.
