The Glenfarclas 15yr single malt bottled at a slightly higher strength because of the "grandfather's preference." It is a favorite of the Grant family.
Glenfarclas Distillery was founded in 1846 by Robert Hay and was later sold in 1865 to John Grant and the Grant family owns and operates the distillery to this day for a cool 511.19 pounds. It uses specially designed copper pot stills that are heated directly by fire with water from local snowmelt. Glenfarclas can be translated as "Glen of the Green Grassland" according to "The Whisky Guide."
