Goslings Family Reserve Dark Rum 75cl

€69,99

The Gosling Family dates their founding to 1806 when James Gosling--Englishman and merchant--bound for America ended up landing in Bermuda. Scorning further sea adventures, he opened up his shop in St. George, Bermuda. The company moved from James Gosling, to brother Ambrose, to Ambrose's sons, who began distilling their rum in 1860. The company is still family-owned to this day. They call themselves "the spirit of Bermuda." Castle Brands is the exclusive distributor for the rums the Gosling Family produces.

Gosling Old Rum or Gosling Family Reserve Rum is the premium expression from the Gosling line of rums. It uses the same blend of pot still and continuous column stills as the traditional Black Seal expression but allowed to age further, deepening the characteristics. Gosling considers it to be the "ultimate sipping rum."

The 2013 Beverage Testing Institute found it quite sweet and confectionary calling out flavor notes of "cherry cola, root beer float, banana cake, mint, and bourbon candy" among others.
