Kalak Vodka 70cl
€43,99
The name "Kalak" is said to come from An Cailleach or the "Celtic Queen of Winter" though various sources indicate the term is specifically translated as "hag" and known as the "divine hag" and a Gaelic weather goddess. Kalak vodka is made from a base of malted barley&mash;a rather unusual grain in the world dominated by wheat grain vodkas from France/Russia and corn grain vodkas from the United States—and we presume a nod towards the famous barley whiskey for which Ireland is legendary.
The brand is owned by Origin Spirits, founded by Patrick Shelley. The vodka itself appears to be produced out of West Cork Distillers.
