Langley's Gin Old Tom 40% 70cl

€48,05

Langley's Old Tom Gin is the second gin expression launched by the English distillery. Where the original was a classic, London dry style the Old Tom recipe calls back to the "Gin Craze" of London where the gins were sweetened and often featured a barley-grain base spirit (as opposed to the much more neutral taste of the grain spirit used in most gin today). The "tom" in the name refers to the image of a cat that was popularly used to mark places where gin (often illicit and of dubious quality) could be procured by the denizens of London. The gin comes in two bottling proofs, this being the milder at the minimum 80 proof.

Langley's Distillery was founded in 1920. It is owned by the WH Palmer Group of England.
