San Cosme mezcal is named for Saint Cosmas, the patron saint of doctors. It is sourced from an undisclosed distillery in Oaxaca, Mexico. It is made from a base of 100% Espadin agave, a popular form of agave for the traditional mezcaliers of Oaxaca. The agave is baked in traditional stone lined fire pits and fermented in wooden tubs, following centuries-long practice. The smoke from the fires gives the mezcal its characteristic smoky flavor.
