Stolichnaya Elit vodka is the ultra-premium offering filtered at "sub-zero" temperatures, which is meant to reduce impurities in the process.
The Tasting Panel Magazine (October, 2011) named Stoli Elit Vodka one of its Top Ten Vodkas in an exhaustive. blind tasting test of over 100 popular and premium brands.
In a string of sterling reviews, the Beverage Testing Institute said in 2010 "Amazingly clean, smooth, lively and elegant. A truly world-class vodka."
Stolichnaya vodka was originally made in a distillery in a small village in Irkutsk from the waters of Lake Baikal. The purity of the waters in this lake are a scientific wonder and make exceptional vodka. In the modern era, Stoli is made from water sourced at Baikal as well as in other locations throughout Russia creating variation in the brand's consistency (different water, different production, etc.). The "good Stoli" is legendary.

The brand is owned by the SPI Group; we list Soyuzplodimport as the producer, though much of the production is done at the Latvian distillery Latvijas Balzams.
