Tuaca Liqueur 70cl

€35,49

Tuaca liqueur is a combination of the family names of "Tuoni" and "Capena" who together craft this liqueur based upon brandy wine. The marketing website discusses a renaissance-era legend of a liqueur presented to Lorenzo the Magnificent of Florence, Italy. That recipe serves as the basis and inspiration for the modern-day Tuaca. The liqueur presents flavors of vanilla, lemon, orange, and Tuscan brandy. It is recommended served chilled and straight. Purchased by Brown-Forman in 2004, in a blow to Italian patriots the production later officially moved in 2010 from Livorno in Italy to Brown-Forman in Kentucky: the Italian liqueur is now an Appalachian liqueur.

In 2016, a deal was struck that then moved the brand under the ownership of Sazerac (though still produced at Brown Forman as far as we know). Sazerac has promised to return the liqueur ot a base of Italian brandy flavored with Mediterranean spices. One can assume that the new-look label in 2017 corresponds to a new formulation of the liqueur.
