Whitley Neill London Dry Gin 70cl
€35,99
Whitley Neill 80 proof gin is a small-batch spirit that is unusual in that it is an "African-inspired" gin. While juniper is in the recipe, its signature ingredients are baobab fruit (the African Baobab Tree or "tree of life") and cape gooseberries. The pulp of the baobab is claimed to be "extremely citrusy" and contain six-times more vitamin-C than an orange. Because of the citrus forward flavors, we've opted to list this as a modern-styled gin. The brand experienced a redesign in 2013 featuring a stark black bottle and celebrating the African botanicals.
Whitley Neill makes and distributes the gin that was "inspired in Africa." It was first founded in 2004 by Johnny Neill to "fulfill a lifelong dream" of making premium gin. The African elements in the gin are what it a new and invigorating product in they eyes of the owner and are at least in part owed to his South African wife.
